Aurizon contacted Genesis rail and plant to assist with the Removal of multiple turnout configurations (1 x 1 :16 & 1 x 1:12) along with several plain line panels, 2 x TRACS ® (Alpha) and 4 x TRACS ® (Bravos) were used to accomplish this scope. Whilst on site the project timeline for panel removal was 8 hours, the team from Genesis completed the panel removal with 4 hours to spare.

In Conclusion the job was finished much earlier than programmed, the traditional method of removal for these turnouts can prove to be quite dangerous and requires all personnel to be away from the cranes lifting out the panels. With the TRACS ®, initially they require a 5-metre radius of people/plant separation but once the panel is tracked down, excavation can immediately start expediting the timeline
